Through evidence-based methods like client-centered therapy, somatic experiencing, and CBT, she guides clients towards positive social adjustment and healing, supporting their worth, dignity, and unique potential.

Personal

Nelicia is originally from the south side of Chicago where she spent her childhood. She currently lives in the Elgin, Illinois area with her husband, daughter and fur baby.

Nelicia's journey into becoming a therapist is deeply rooted in her own experiences with trauma and anxiety. Having navigated her own mental health challenges and witnessed other family member's struggles with mental health and substance abuse during her childhood, she discovered an innate skill for providing support. However, she was driven to ensure she could offer this support in a professional and safe manner, prompting her pursuit of advanced level training.

For Nelicia, learning about mental health was transformative, bringing clarity not only to her understanding of herself but also to her perception of others. As the oldest of eight siblings, caregiving came naturally, even during times when she should have just been allowed to be a kid. Finding a balance between supporting others' healing journeys and practicing self-care has become a daily endeavor. Nelicia takes pride in her ability to be a beacon of light for others while nurturing her own well-being simultaneously."

In her free time, Nelicia enjoys art & crafting, hip hop/R&B music, spending time with friends and family, exercising, dancing, and trying her hand at DIY projects that sometimes turn out well.
